Performance Comparison of Different Modulation Formats for a 40 Gbps Hybrid Optical CDMA/DWDM System against ISI and FWM

This paper carries out a numerical simulation investigating three different modulation formats: carrier suppressed return to zero (CSRZ), modified duobinary (MDRZ) and (RZ). The purpose of this investigation is find the optimum format for hybrid optical code division multiple accesses–dense wavelength multiplexing (optical CDMA/DWDM) system with implementation an electro-optic phase modulator (EOPM) at data rate 40 Gbps per channel, transmitted power 22 dBm transmission distance 105.075 km. results revealed that CSRZ was superior MDRZ RZ more tolerant fiber nonlinearity. Furthermore, unlike DWDM systems, performance proposed based better than MDRZ. Hence, best candidate CDMA/DWDM EOPM module due its high performance.
